Heritage Cooperative and Agland Co-Op announced
that a merger between the two is set to move forward.
The planned merger, which
will be finalized Sept. 1 if approved by regulators, was announced by
Heritage Cooperative on Feb. 13.
According to a joint statement
from the chairman of the board of directors from Agland Co-Op and chairman of
the board of directors from Heritage Cooperative, the merger will be valuable to members, employees and communities.
The two companies announced
their intentions concerning a merger in June and said at the time that the
neither company expected to lose employees as a result of the merger. The
merger is hoped to provide a broader spectrum of services to members overall.
