In an effort to assist Kansan ranchers
affected by recent wildfires that have swept through the state, the five Farm
Credit Associations of Kansas and CoBank recently announced that they will
collectively donate $160,000 to the Kansas Livestock Foundation.

“We are deeply concerned for all who were
impacted by the devastating wildfires, including more than 30 American AgCredit
customers who lost livestock, homes, grass, fences, equipment and more,” said
American AgCredit Senior Vice President Greg Reno. “It is our honor to support
the Kansas Livestock Foundation, along with our Farm Credit partners, in this
important relief effort, and we are committed to working closely with our
affected customers in the days and weeks ahead.”

The Kansas Livestock Foundation will direct
the funds donated by the Farm Credit Associations and CoBank to helping
ranchers purchase fencing supplies, feed and other vital elements they will
need to rebuild their operations. The Kansas Livestock Foundation is the Kansas
Livestock Association’s charitable organization.

“Support of this fund on behalf of our
borrower-owners ties back to the support provided last year after the Anderson
Creek fire,” said High Plains Farm Credit and Farm Credit of Ness City President
and CEO Kevin Swayne. “Back-to-back natural disasters in our region are
truly devastating and we are thankful to be in a position to provide
assistance.”
