International Ag Insurance Solutions issued the following announcement on Nov. 25.
Thanksgiving is a time when U.S. farmers, consumers and families around the country briefly pause break bread and express our gratitude with family, friends and other loved ones (though those celebrations look slightly different this year). One of the ways the nation’s farm leaders are helping translate that gratitude and recognition of the nation’s bountiful ag to action is through food assistance both at home and abroad. U.S. agricultural aid programs like those by the U.S. International Development Agency have helped feed more than 4 billion people in the last 55 years. Most recently, U.S. wheat growers have gotten involved in providing the staple crop to those in need both at home and overseas in places like Beirut, where an explosion devastated the city earlier this year. Hear how wheat, potato and rice growers are working to share their output with those in need, an important reflection of generosity as we pause to give thanks this Thanksgiving.
